PAT LeCLERC

Pat was born in San Antonio, Texas and moved to Lakin, Kansas with her mother, father and sister at the age of 9.  Pat’s father was born in Finney County and his parents homesteaded south of Deerfield.  Pat graduated from Lakin Rural High School, married and raised three children; Mona, Joni and Gary while living in Lakin.  At age 20 she went to work for the Probate, County and Juvenile Judge in Lakin, later running for that position and was elected to five terms as Judge.  She was the youngest Judge in the state of Kansas at age 26.  While serving as Judge she served on many committees including a blue ribbon planning committee appointed by the Kansas Supreme Judge.  In her last term as Judge she married Gene LeClerc who was a Trooper with the Kansas Highway Patrol.  Making their home in Garden City in 1975, she resigned her position as Judge.  Her second career began in 1982 when Pat began working for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas.  She is still working for the company and will complete 25 years in February 2007.  She has been awarded the President’s Award Twice for top sales in Kansas and been a member of the Presidents Award Club most every year of her career.  Pat is an Elder of the Presbyterian Church of Garden City.  Her hobbies are playing bridge, traveling, gardening, and shopping.  Most important in her life is her family and the many wonderful friends that complete that circle.
